19a. Cellular Update

Greetings dear friends :-)

Just back from the hospital (went there for a change of scenery!) and my cell count is still low. I also have a potential infection at the site where my Hickman line comes out, so I have to go every day for an IV injection of antibiotics, plus extra GCSF injections to boost the cell count. For those of you who are kind enough to tune into the 9.00pm GMT healing session (or actually any healing you are giving me), I would be really grateful if you could focus on the infection abating and my cell count going up. I am sure it will all be fine, but if the infection continues I will be admitted and put on much higher dose antibiotics, and more importantly, hospital food, which is obviously going to do me no good whatsoever :-) . There is also the risk that the line will have to be removed and re-sited (ouch) and that will delay the chemo….and so it goes on.

Thank you as ever

Margaret xx

About Margaret Cahill

After diagnosis of Mantle Cell Lymphoma in 2013, I started this blog to stay in touch with friends, family, and and an ever increasing network of lovely people who sent me healing. The readership increased and I ended up blogging for all I was worth to try and stay sane through the chemotherapy and stem cell transplant. Then after I went into remission (thankfully) I was enjoying the writing so much that I have carried on, and the blog seems to have become a bit of a resource for people, which is lovely. The original year of blogs have now been made into a book, Under Cover of Darkness: How I Blogged my Way Through Mantle Cell Lymphoma. It fills in a lot of the gaps between the blogs, and the tone falls somewhere between graveyard humour and explicit details of chemo treatments. I do hope you enjoy it :-) Mxx
